MC You selected a lovely shade, in my opinion. Also, bright colors are versatile and work on any surface, light or dark. On another note, do you mind talking about your profession as a tattoo artist? Do you observe any similarities between graff and tattooing? Tattoos can be permanent, while tags might fall victim to the buff tomorrow? Meanwhile, painting is the opposite. You still need to be exact, but the movements are much more extensive SICOER Tattooing as a job gave me a lot of freedom for other activities and a lot of experience as another creative medium, which is good, and I am delighted I had the chance to get into it. But regarding similarities in the process — there’s not much, to be honest. Tattooing is a very precise, sterile, and “static” process. Meanwhile, painting is the opposite. You still need to be exact, but the movements are much more extensive (whole-body movements), totally expressive, and you get dirty with paint all the time. If you compare the final effect (let’s say tag), it might look alike, but the way it was created is very different. Painting is the real deal for me. For the other question — tattoos are only permanent as long as you live, no longer than human life. Graffiti obviously ← Let’s start with the letter „S“. Sicoer builds a foundation to his concept that is so precise it almost appears as if it has been marked out beforehand. ↓ A little perspective on scale and effort. ← In his own words, “painting is the real deal”. Sicoer pauses in front of his work, evidence in hand. Cans long before we started working together, which is even more satisfactory — to get supported with your favorite spray can company. And this is not an advert, haha! Big up! MC While we are at it, what qualities are essential when you select your tools for painting? What’s your favorite cap and can combination? Team high or low pressure? SICOER Well, I am a fan of powerful lines, but smooth valve and the BLACK series provide a good compromise between those factors, even with the stock cap that comes with it. The Level 6 fatcap works well for me if I got enough space for human size movements, and beyond that obviously, the monster ULTRA WIDE can. I love to use these, but I find it hard to find a good spot when you want to use them to the maximum. This can is a gamechanger, and I think there is still a lot of potentials to work with these tools! I can not say more than working with Montana Cans team is 100% professional. I got a good amount of creative freedom with great technical assistance, whatever the issue can be buffed anytime — so in this game, I would say canvas works are the winner. Usually, they are looked after with good care by galleries and collectors; they will stay alive way longer than graff and tattoos. That’s why I think they have the biggest value of all the mediums at the end. MC That’s an interesting perspective! Speaking of longevity, now you tap into products, which is something new. Can you elaborate on the process? What do you like about the collaboration with Montana? SICOER I can not say more than working with Montana Cans team is 100% professional. I got a good amount of creative freedom with great technical assistance, whatever the issue. I am super happy about this edition; it is a great feeling to have your own artist edition — kind of a childhood dream coming to life.
