incident scene. As soon

incident scene. As soon as we were far enough away and therefore safe, there was an obligatory high-five, accompanied by a lively exchange about the events we had just experienced. We imagined what it would have been like for the police to get into the tunnel. The air was probably still cloudy from all the paint, and the pieces on the subway car were still shiny and wet. But this was the only evidence of our visit only minutes before. After dropping KANDE off, I drove home with a smile growing bigger each mile. We imagined what it would have been like for the police to get into the tunnel. The air was probably still cloudy from all the paint... With the whole car we had painted there two months earlier, everything went smoothly afterward, too. We even got good photos of the whole car in operation. According to KANDE, this was rare because a painted subway usually will be immediately removed from service to be cleaned. However, the driver didn't realize our colorful names on the rear car. When the driver started his first shift, he drove off without checking the last cars of the subway. As a result, the whole car traveled a complete lap through Hamburg, and we took some perfect photos. Imagine our luck! However, This time, things went differently than planned because although KANDE waited at the station early in the morning to take photos, the subway did not start its regular service. After waiting a while, he took a subway and traveled past the underground lay-up. But our whole car was no longer there. This meant it was probably taken to the buff for cleaning that night. From now on, the hunt for the whole car began. BLOH, a colleague who knew about our nocturnal action, was waiting at a good spot early in the morning to take the perfect photo of the whole car on a bridge. Unfortunately, he waited there in vain, as we could not inform him then that the subway had already been taken out of service during the night for cleaning. It's hard to imagine today as we didn't have mobile phones back then and had to communicate via pagers and phone box callbacks. We already suspected the train had been relocated to the Barmbek yard, as the buff was also there. As the trains were not visible outside, we took a train running over a bridge right above the yard. From there, we had a good view of everything and eventually discovered our whole car parked behind other subway cars. We only recognized a few colorful windows from the rearview, but that had to be our train. On the one hand, we were happy that we had finally found it, but on the other hand, it was standing right in front of the hall where painted subways were getting cleaned. An absolute disaster! Only authorized railway staff had access to the site. I parked on the other side of the road, right across the yard. In the meantime, we contacted BLOH and explained the situation to him. Shortly afterward, we all met and were thinking about how we could get onto the site when BLOH suddenly said decisively: "Fuck it, I'll just go in there now." Then, he crossed the road and, to our astonishment, disappeared into the yard, passing by the barrier and the gatekeeper. A few minutes later, he returned. "I've got the photos." He told us that he had simply looked intensely at his pager, greeted the gatekeeper as he passed by, and thus entered the site camouflaged, hiding in plain sight. He was then able to take the best photos unhindered. We could hardly believe our luck and drove straight to a photo shop at the main station to have the film developed in the hourly service. We were delighted when we held the perfect photos in our hands an hour later! ...BLOH suddenly said decisively: "Fuck it, I'll just go in there now" Then, he crossed the road and, to our astonishment, dissapeared into the yard... 36 ICONIC SERIES JEPSY
