It’s been an exhilarating year, filled with events, collaborations, and of course, our continuous commitment to fostering the vibrant culture of graffiti and street art. The past year, we’ve journeyed through numerous Jams and events, championing the graffiti culture and creating opportunities for artists to interact and showcase their work. Our involvement ranged from facilitating platforms for emerging talents to celebrating the contributions of legendary figures in the graffiti world. And let’s not forget, we also expanded our innovative product lines! #montanacans #germanspraypaint https://www.montana-cans.blog/the-new-montana-cans-lookbook-2024/↗

2020 2020 It took

2020 2020 It took exactly one first Schrotti in the mid-2000s for this wonderful jam to grow on me. Over the years, I always had the feeling of coming to a second home, far away from my beloved Hamburg. A great spot where nobody can feel disturbed, only nice people, exuberant emotions, partying more than I could handle at times, the obligatory illegal cooling off in the outdoor pool right next door. I took the cake a few years ago. The urge to hit the Schrotti made me drive for eight hours on Polish and German motorways, only to catch the last hour at the end. Forever in my heart! OTIS is the first one to respond. He digs our outfits. All in all, there is a surprising bit of positive feedback. ↑ The performative element within this crew piece goes beyond the visual dimension of the result. While painting can be a good way to free your mind, questioning society’s norms can be challenging. 2021. Schrotti Jam. This Jam’s theme: diversity. Lloyd and I decide to go in drag. I am excited and also a bit afraid. Afraid of everyone’s response. Sadly, still, graffiti tends to represent toxic masculinity rather more than inclusion and diversity. Otis is the first one to respond. He digs our outfits. All in all, there is a surprising bit of positive feedback. But we are also being cat-called, we are being hit on “just for fun”. I get astonished comments on how gay I look. These few hours in “women’s clothing” are incredibly challenging for me. But this was just one single afternoon. An afternoon when we were out playing with our identities, perhaps even felt like pushing some buttons, or making a bit of a scene. At the end of the day, we took those skirts and wigs off again. LLOYD and I are neither women nor trans people. We are not being cat-called in our day-to-day lives. To us, nighttime is freedom rather than a menace, and neither do we experience with regularity that male people molest, threaten and/or assault us. In our Piece at the Jam, we wrote: “Males out!” Today, I prefer to say with JJ Bola: “Don’t be male!” Amyl and the sniffers: Knifey FÜHL’R, CBRA PUNX / TAJRR 2021 Recap Best of schrotti 69
