We finally got the car
We finally got the car fixed and were bringing all our new stuff we had accumulated out of the building. Static had already left to get the car, and I was bringing the last of my shit down (which is a nine-story climb up and down some tiny stairs). I climbed out the window and saw a red pickup truck down the train tracks. It definitely saw me, so I just played it cool like I didn’t care they were there and slowly got on my bike. They rolled up, like, “Stop right there, you’re trespassing, police are on the way. “I said I know, I’m leaving.” They demanded to see what was in my bag, and knowing they were probably only looking for people taking copper, I said, “Sure, I have a bunch of spray paint.” They said, “Spray paint? Are you an artist?” I said, “Yeah,” and then they said, “Are you STATIC... or SHOCK?” Normally, I would not answer that question, but right then, for some reason, it seemed like the move. I told them what I wrote, and their whole entire vibe changed. They said “holy shit, we have been wanting to meet you. We love your artwork; we’ve been seeing it all over in the building. We knew you guys were still here, so we were hoping we would run into you.” Normally, I would not answer that question, but right then, for some reason, it seemed like the move. I told them what I wrote, and their whole entire vibe changed. 88 Street Report SHOCK
